Bobby Joe Johnson, 86, passed peacefully in his sleep with his adoring wife of 31 years, Cathie, by his side on Sunday, February 14th, 2021. He was born on June 4th, 1934 in Pickwick, TN. Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Johnson; his first wife, Peggy Johnson; his sister, Ann Rickman; and his brother, Freeman “Cotton” Johnson. He is still watching over his wife, Cathie Johnson; daughters, Debbie Richard and Diana Johnson of West Monroe, LA; daughter and son-in-law, Merry and Kevin Huddleston of Randolph, MS; and 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Bobby was a talented musician and mastered many instruments. He was a self-taught, mechanically inclined, hard-working family man. Bobby was a steadfast believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and spent the better part of his life ministering to others across our country and covering his family in prayer. He has been a shining example of strength, faith, and spirituality. Bobby was a gifted storyteller who would keep his loved ones laughing with his colorful interpretations of his experiences as a young man. His boyish smile and laugh left a lasting impression and he will be missed dearly by his cherished family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 1:00 pm at White Sulphur Cemetery in Counce, TN. Pallbearers will be Gary Richard, Terry Richard, Corey Richard, Tyler Richard, Jackson Richard, Jacob Richard, Kevin Huddleston, and Jordan Sheppard.
