We mournfully announce the passing of Debra Kay Hannon Franks Bonds, 63, of Iuka, Mississippi. She passed peacefully in her home, on February 15th, 2021.
Debra, known to most as Deb, was born to Alfred (Edgar) & Willadean Hannon, taking her first breath on March 27th, 1957 in Booneville, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald Earl Franks of Cherokee, Alabama; her son, Thomas Earl Franks; her parents, Alfred Thomas (Edgar) & Willadean Hannon; grandparents Willard & Pauline Wadkins and Riley & Zue Hannon; her uncle and aunt, Edgar Earl & Jackie Wadkins, all of Iuka. Also, her second husband, Marty L. Bonds.
She is survived by her sister, Kathy Thompson and husband Ronnie; nephew Brad Thompson and wife Susan (children Hunter & Hannon); niece Miranda (Mandee’) Null and husband Jayson; and many other loving family members, cherished Facebook friends and her beloved companion, Bella June.
Deb will always be remembered for her love of singing, making others laugh, her kind and thoughtful gestures towards others, and her faith in the Lord. In the last few years, her Facebook “family” was so important to her and she, somehow, managed to keep up with everyone’s birthdays, special occasions and events like clockwork. Her mindful, caring posts will be missed by all. Deb’s heart was always open to all of her many, many friends and family.
At Deb’s request, there will be no services held. In lieu of floral arrangements, she wanted you to help someone less fortunate and/or donations be made to the charity of your choosing. Most recently, Deb was involved with Tishomingo County Foster Rescue (Gail Milligan, who is lovingly caring for Bella until a perfect family is found for her).
