Donald "John" Ray Maxwell

Donald Ray “John” Maxwell, age 59 passed away January 20, 2022. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved his pet bird Nikki. He is survived by his son, Skylar Maxwell; two brothers, Gary Maxwell, and Jerry “Tuggy” Ray Borden Jr. (Regina); two sisters, Sandra Heaps (Jimmy) and Heather Arnold; stepmother, Sandra Rast; a host of nieces and nephews; a very special and thoughtful friend, Deputy Jeff Clark. He was preceded in death by his children, Lori Beth Maxwell and Jeremy Ray Maxwell; mother, Ollie Grace Simpson Borden; stepfather, Jerry Borden; grandparents, Earl and Mable Simpson; two brothers, Ricky Cornelison and Steve Maxwell; two sisters, Lisa Carlisle and Linda McGee. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Ludlam Funeral Home, Iuka, MS beginning at 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Ludlam Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Dwight South officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Cherokee, AL. Pallbearers include Michael George, Robert Moore, Eddie Borden, Randall George, Dustin Maxwell, Mark Matlock, and Drew Thigpen. Honorary pallbearer and best friend, Eddie Goss.
