Gene Fredrick Black

Gene Fredrick Black, age 71 passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025. He was an Army Veteran. He loved spending time with his family, fishing and was well known for his carpentry work. He is survived by his long time companion Lynda Hall Taylor; children, Misty Black Stokes (Jason) and Brian Black (Jessica); grandchildren, Miranda Parsons, Dakota Whirley (Lindsay), Warren Fletcher and Ellick Saulk; great grandchildren, Caleb Marley, Eden Whirley, Athena Osorio and Ashton Osorio; sisters, Joann Black Lovelace (Eugene) and Wanda Black King (Jackie); brothers, William Black (Gwen) and Jimmy Black (Annette); a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Black and Maudie Lambert Black; sisters, Ora Mae Black Reno and Alice Black Curtis; brother-in-law, Danny Curtis; niece, Christy Lovelace Hickox. Visitation will be Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Ludlam Funeral Home, Iuka, MS beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Following visitation funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. at Ludlam Funeral Home Chapel with Roger Pounders officiating.
