George Oakes Obituary

George Oakes age 78 passed away Friday, July 1. 2022. He was a member of Burnsville Tabernacle Church in Burnsville, MS. He enjoyed watching westerns, visiting and talking to people, and collecting knives and two-dollar bills. He is survived by his sons, Karl Ragan (Tresia) and Jeff Ragan (Beverly); daughter, Irene Wilder (Chris); grandchildren, Kristy, Kendall, Stephanie, Sarah, Amanda, Jonathan, and Brittany; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sandra Oakes; nephews, Brett Oakes and Ralph Oakes Jr.; nieces, Lisa Sullivan and Melissa Bower. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Oakes; parents, George and Frances Oakes; sons, Howard Ragan and Greg Ragan; sisters, Joan Oakes and Gloria Camidge; brother, Ralph Oakes. Graveside services will be held Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Sardis Cemetery, Iuka, MS beginning at 8:00 a.m. with Bro. Sheldon Lambert officiating.
