Gerald D. Rodgers, age 86, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026. He was born on July 20, 1939, in Corinth, MS. He never met a stranger and was always eager to share his interest in NASCAR, drag car races, motorcycle riding, NFL and college football. He was a fan of Ole Miss and The Green Bay Packers. He especially enjoyed family gatherings with his children and grandchildren, most of all Gerald loved to serve The Kingdom of God, as he was a licensed minister of the Gospel. He supported and donated to many worthy projects and events, locally and internationally. He worked and retired from Caterpillar Company where he was well known for over twenty years. He is survived by his wife, Diane of fifty-two and a half years of marriage; his daughters, Angelina Rollins (Bruyne) and Deeana Joy Dildy (Jeremy); grandchildren, Remington Rodgers, Lijah Rollins, Carson Rollins, Rebekah Dildy and Jeremiah Dildy; niece, Barbara Bowman (Eddy); nephew, Bobby Rodgers; a host of nieces and nephews; a host of great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Gaston and Ruby Mae Rodgers; son, Rick D. Rodgers; sister Doris Farnam; brother, Robert H. Rodgers. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 10, 2026, at The Bridge, Burnsville, MS beginning at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation prior beginning at 1:00 p.m. Bro. Jason Roberts and Bro. James Rich will be officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, luka, MS. Pallbearers include Lijah Rollins, Carson Rollins, Jim Ault, Billy Glover, Ryan Glover and Zach Glover. In lieu of flowers the family kindly request that donations be made to the Linda Downs Refuge of Recovery in his honor. Donations can be made via cash, check or cash app ($TheBridgeHouse).
