Jimmy Leon Gearren

Jimmy Leon Gearren, age 69, passed away February 16, 2025 at his home in Iuka, MS after a short battle with stage 4 lung cancer. Jimmy was born on March 8, 1955 in Asheboro, N.C. He graduated from Southwestern Randolph High School, class of 1974. He began working at Caraway Furniture, after school, at the age of 15 and dedicated 50 years to the industry that he loved. His passion for this industry led him and his family all over the United States. He retired from Max Home Furniture in Fulton, MS. He had a strong work ethic and commitment to his profession which carried over to the love he had for his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it was watching their sporting events, taking them sporting clay shooting, or just hanging around the house watching movies. He cherished each moment he got to spend with them. He is a member of St. James Catholic Church in Corinth, MS, as well as, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iuka, MS.

Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife, Libby Gearren; his daughter, Jamie Carver (Ben); and his grandchildren, Hayes Carver and Delta Kayte Carver of Starkville, MS; three nephews, and a host of other loved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Thelma Gearren; his brother, Ronald Gearren. Ludlam Funeral Home in Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will be held at St. James Catholic Church and is scheduled from 1:00 p.m.  until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 with the memorial service to follow. St. James Catholic Church is located at 3189 North Harper Rd, Corinth, MS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St.  Jude Children’s Research Hospital or your local food bank.
