Lamar Rutherford, age 89 passed away February 1, 2022, at his residence. He was born March 19, 1932, to Fred and Effie Rutherford. He was a self-taught musician. He was Circuit Court Clerk of Tishomingo County for twenty years, a car salesman and service manager for some time. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends, golfing, yardwork, gardening, making music, and helping other people. Lamar is survived by his wife of 68 years, Evalena Page Rutherford; his son Steve Rutherford (Barbara), his daughter Rhonda Nunley (Johnny); one granddaughter, Andrea Rutherford; step granddaughter, Deborah Najedinne (Majid); two step great granddaughters, Mandy Stark (Ben) and Sydney Parnell; one step great grandson, Kaiden Najedinne; one step great great granddaughter, Estella Stark; a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred D. Rutherford and Effie Rast Rutherford; his brother, Wheeler Harris Rutherford; sister-in-law, Rita Rutherford. Due to Covid there will be no visitation and a private graveside service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Rutledge Salem Cemetery, Iuka, MS. Officiating will be Bro. Johnny S. Nunley, William Burcham, and Bro. Neil Edmondson. Ludlam Funeral Home in Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. You may leave online condolences to the family at www.ludlamfuneralhome.com
