Lamar Rutherford, age 89 passed away February 1, 2022, at his residence. He was born March 19, 1932, to Fred and Effie Rutherford. He was a self-taught musician. He was Circuit Court Clerk of Tishomingo County for twenty years, a car salesman and service manager for some time. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends, golfing, yardwork, gardening, making music, and helping other people. Lamar is survived by his wife of 68 years, Evalena Page Rutherford; his son Steve Rutherford (Barbara), his daughter Rhonda Nunley (Johnny); one granddaughter, Andrea Rutherford; step granddaughter, Deborah Najedinne (Majid); two step great granddaughters, Mandy Stark (Ben) and Sydney Parnell; one step great grandson, Kaiden Najedinne; one step great great granddaughter, Estella Stark; a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred D. Rutherford and Effie Rast Rutherford; his brother, Wheeler Harris Rutherford; sister-in-law, Rita Rutherford. Due to Covid there will be no visitation and a private graveside service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Rutledge Salem Cemetery, Iuka, MS. Officiating will be Bro. Johnny S.
