Mack Lovelace Obituary

Mackie Lovelace Sr. age 73 passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021, from complications of COVID. He was a member of Asphalt Rock Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and song director. Also, a member of Vertagreen Masonic Lodge in Cherokee, AL. Mackie served one tour in Vietnam as a proud U.S. Marine and retired as a construction worker with Colbert Co. Water Department. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kaye Stanford Lovelace; two sons, Mack Lovelace Jr. (Nelia) and Jeremy Lovelace (Kristi); one sister, Sandra Roberts (Bob); grandchildren, Jonah Lovelace (Erica), Tyler Lovelace, Braxton Phelps (Emily) and Makenzie Phelps. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Rachel Johnson Lovelace; one brother, Jackie W. Lovelace. Visitation will be Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Ludlam Funeral Home Iuka, MS beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Following visitation will be funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Tim Pittman. Burial will be in Asphalt Rock Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Jonah Lovelace, Tyler Lovelace, Braxton Phelps, Ken Balentine, Nathan Balentine, and Billy McKissick. Honorary pallbearers Larry Parker, Mike Ortner, Michael Pittman, and Joey Holt. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your favorite charity.
