Nancy Dexter

Nancy Dexter, age 76, of Iuka, MS, passed away on Saturday, August 24,2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Nancy Dexter was born to Bill and Louise Barnette on July 26, 1948, in Tishomingo, MS. Many know Nancy from her job as the Justice Court Clerk in Tishomingo County for over 25 years. Nancy met Jessie Dexter, and they wed on June 19, 1988. If you knew Nancy, you knew her love for Beauty Control, Tupperware, and QVC. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was always willing to support them through their many passions and difficulties. Nancy and Jessie have been members of the Iuka Church of Christ for many years. During their retirement years, they spent all the time they could with their great grandchildren and family. We will miss you, Nana, greatly. She is survived by her husband, Jesse Dexter; son, Richard Holt (Natasha); daughter, Tanya Kennedy (R.J.); sisters, Darlene Watkins (Bobby) and Laura Leigh Gray (Dennis); grandchildren, Blake Holt (Alicia), Chandler Ray (Anna), Skyler Ray, Allia Garrett and Natalie Garrett; eleven great grandchildren, Hailey, Jaden, Bubba, Beka, Lane, Jackson, Kinleigh, Jase Ray, Harper, Hadley Holt and Merida Jennings; a special sister-in-law, Patsy Barnett Wade. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Louise Barnette; brother, Billy Barnette. The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers of Gentiva Hospice for the excellent care she received. Also to the family and friends for all the food, outreach, and fellowship in the past few days. Visitation will be Monday, August 26, 2024 at Ludlam Funeral Home Iuka, MS beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Ludlam Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Lance Foster officiating. Interment will be in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery, Iuka, MS. Pallbearers include Chandler Ray, Blake Holt, Michael Busby, Lanny Hamm, Billy Rainey, Eric Barnette. Honorary Pallbearers include Charles Jones, Skyler Ray, Frank Aldridge.
