Steven Robert Keister

Steven Robert Keister passed away Sunday, April 8, 2025 at Magnolia Hospital in Corinth, MS. He was born November 5, 1947 in Weston, WV to Jack Keister and Nell Hamm Keister. Steven was a 1966 graduate of Weston High School where he excelled in athletics. Upon his graduation he had a promising baseball career which was cut short when he was drafted to serve in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After serving in the Army, Steven then served in the Marines. Steven made a career as an over-the-road truck driver hitting all 50 states each year for 19 years. In 1998, he married Barbara Turner and made Iuka his home. He retired from driving in 2013 to care for his elderly father in WV. When his father passed in 2018, he returned to Iuka. Steven was an avid golfer. He enjoyed watching all sports on tv, reminiscing and sharing stories of his glory days playing ball, and caring for his beloved dog, Gizmo. Steven was preceded in death by his parents and his only brother, Jim Keister of Weston, WV. He is survived by a son, Chris Keister of Memphis, TN. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 18, 2025 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at South Crossroads Baptist Church. Ludlam Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Steven Robert Keister.
