Vernon Shook Obituary

Vernon Wayne Shook age 77, passed away at his residence on August 29, 2020. He was born on September 6, 1942, in Savannah, TN. He was the son of Forest Ray Shook and Cecil DeGraw Shook. Mr. Shook grew up in Cherokee, AL and worked alongside his stepfather; Lester Davis, who owned Cherokee Lumber Company. This business was later changed to Shook Logging. He was survived by his children, Todd Shook (Jana), Brandt Shook (Amy), Melody Shook Senn (Billy) and Janette Morgan; sister, Shirley Shook Hardin; five grandchildren, Paisley Shook, Maze Shook, Brett Morgan (Jesika), Sara Wilmeth (Dakota), Madison Morgan; nephew, Chad Shook; three great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shelby Shook. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forest Ray Shook and Cecil Shook Davis; stepfather, Lester Davis; one brother, Horace Ray Shook; brother-in-law, Jerry Hardin. There will be a private graveside service held. Burial will be in Allsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Cherokee, AL. Ludlam Funeral Home in Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements.
